Job Description

How will you make an impact? 

We are seeking a skilled, communicative, and structured Solution Expert to oversee and continuously enhance MMS HO / Assortment Management, a key component of our core Goods Management landscape. This solution supports the definition and maintenance of the article assortment for Metro, including buying prices and conditions and the activation and lifecycle management of the assortment for supply chain and stores, with downstream impact on business processes such as ordering, replenishment, and stock management. 

As a Solution Expert, you will bridge business and technology by translating business needs into scalable, reliable, and user-focused solutions. The role combines service ownership, stakeholder communication, continuous improvement, and support for strategic decision-making to ensure high-performing and compliant solutions.
You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and engineering teams to define and refine requirements, support implementation and integration activities, drive continuous improvement and operational excellence, maintain documentation and knowledge sharing, and contribute to product roadmaps. 

Your Responsibilities:

• Translate business needs into functional designs and actionable tasks. 
• Design, configure, and optimize solutions aligned with architecture and best practices. 
• Conduct user research, testing, and analysis to enhance user experience and performance. 
• Drive continuous improvement with a focus on scalability, reliability and efficiency. 
• Support strategic decision-making processes. 
• Define, prioritize and refine requirements for new features and improvements. 
• Collaborate with the engineering team to support implementation, integration, testing and issue resolution. 
• Ensure compliance with business processes, governance and standards. 
• Manage stakeholders and ensure clear communication across teams. 
• Maintain documentation, workflows and integration diagrams, ensuring knowledge transfer across teams. 
• Provide training, guidance, consultancy to users and internal teams. 
• Stay current on product developments, technology trends and market insights. 
• Contribute to product and solution roadmaps. 

Qualifications

Required key competencies and

qualifications

• Strong knowledge and experience in article and assortment management for retail and/or wholesale (5+ years) – including knowledge of Goods Management Solutions. 
• Ability to translate complex business needs into structured, actionable solutions.  
• Ability to identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions. 
• Experience in active management of expectations and building of strong relationships across diverse stakeholders. 
• Identification of opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement. 
• Use of data, user insights, and performance metrics to guide decisions. 
• Experience with Oracle databases, PL/SQL and Oracle Forms is a plus. 
• Very good fluency in English (written and verbal). 
• Curious, self-motivated, willingness to learn and enthusiastic. 
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to respect deadlines and prioritize a busy workload. 
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban), and incident/change management tools (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow).
