System Administrator

Our client is a global technology company with a strong focus on data, analytics, and enterprise solutions. The role joins the client’s internal Business Intelligence team, where the individual contributes to the design and maintenance of analytics solutions. 

Role overview

Global Business Analytics team is looking for a System Administrator / DevOps Engineer to support and improve business-critical analytics platforms, reporting solutions, and internal applications used across Oracle's global organization.

Work setup: Flexible hybrid (not mandatory to come to the office, but you could if you want)

In this role, you will maintain platform reliability, troubleshoot technical issues, automate operational processes, and support cloud-based and on-premises environments. Working closely with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders, you will help ensure the stability, performance, and security of enterprise analytics solutions.

Mandatory skills

•University degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering

•1+ years of experience in system administration, DevOps, or technical operations / automation roles

•Strong hands-on experience with Linux environments (administration, troubleshooting, and operational support)

•Strong proficiency in scripting (Python and/or Bash) for automation, monitoring, and operational tooling

•Experience working with APIs for automation, system integration, or data extraction tasks (e.g., UAG or similar platforms)

•Experience in troubleshooting and monitoring multi-component systems (applications, scripts, services, and data flows)

•Ability to build and maintain automation solutions and internal tools (e.g., migration, replication, or operational frameworks)

•Strong analytical mindset with focus on problem-solving, monitoring, and process automation improvements

•Exposure to CI/CD, source control (Git), and basic DevOps practices (conceptual understanding sufficient)

•Ability to work across multiple parallel initiatives and distributed teams (global environment)

•Fluent English communication skills for collaboration with international stakeholders

Nice-to-have

•Experience with Oracle ecosystem (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle DB, Autonomous DB)

•Exposure to ETL/ODI (Oracle Data Integrator) or data pipeline orchestration tools (training will be provided)

•SQL skills and ability to write and understand database queries

•Experience building or maintaining internal automation frameworks (Python/Bash-based tools)

•Understanding of data migration, replication, or processing workflows

•Familiarity with enterprise APIs and integration patterns

•Exposure to observability tools (logging, monitoring, alerting dashboards)

•Basic knowledge of virtualization or cloud infrastructure concepts

•Own incident and problem resolution for supported platforms: investigate issues, identify root cause, implement corrective actions and document preventive measures

•Monitor and improve business-critical analytics services, including Oracle Analytics Cloud, data refresh workflows, ETL/ELT pipelines, databases, scheduled jobs and internal applications during business-hours on-call rotations

•Design, build and maintain automation for deployments, health checks, data validation, access requests, operational runbooks and routine administration tasks

•Support and improve CI/CD practices using source control, automated checks, release pipelines and environment management across development, test and production systems

•Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based services, application components, schedulers, REST integrations, databases and OCI resources used by analytics and reporting platforms

•Implement practical observability: logging, metrics, alerting, service dashboards, runbooks and service-level indicators that make issues easier to detect and resolve

•Partner with application developers, data engineers and business analysts to improve reliability, performance, scalability and usability of internal solutions

•Support secure operations, including patching, least-privilege access, secrets and certificate handling, audit readiness and compliance with Oracle internal security practices

•Evaluate new Oracle products and emerging technologies, including cloud services, automation frameworks and AI-assisted engineering tools, and propose relevant improvements

•Create and maintain clear technical documentation, operational procedures, troubleshooting guides and knowledge base articles
