Group Senior Controller

Why this role

You will own the performance story of a pharma services group with 600+ people across multiple markets: from building the annual Budget and Long-Term Plan to telling management each month what moved, why, and what to do about it. You report directly to the Head of Controlling, work with country and group leadership, and see the full financial picture — P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and NWC — not a slice of it.

This is not a keep-the-lights-on controlling job. We are transforming how finance works at MagnaPharm: rebuilding reporting, planning and variance analysis around AI and automation. You will be both a controller and a change agent — the person who redesigns the process, not just runs it. We want someone who treats AI as a core working instrument, not a curiosity, and who frees their time for analysis and business partnering instead of manual report production

What you will own

• The monthly performance picture: P&L, OPEX, SG&A, EBITDA, NWC and Cash Flow — you analyze it, explain it, and present the story behind the numbers

• Variance analysis vs. budget/forecast: you identify risks and deviations early and propose corrective actions, not just flag them

• Budget, Long-Term Plan and Forecast cycles: you drive the consolidation and challenge the inputs coming from the business

• Cost control: you partner with department heads to keep OPEX on track

• Finance transformation: you have a real mandate to redesign reports, automate what is manual today and embed AI into the monthly controlling cycle — your improvements get adopted across the group

• AI adoption in controlling: you identify use cases (automated commentary, anomaly detection, report generation), pilot them with AI tools, and roll out what works

• Audit support: you are the controlling counterpart for internal and external auditors

What we are looking for

• 5+ years in financial controlling or FP&A, ideally in a multinational environment

• Degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting

• Advanced Excel — you build models, not just maintain them

• Hands-on use of AI tools in your daily work (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or similar) — for analysis, automation or report building; show us what you’ve automated

• Genuine appetite for change: you have improved or redesigned at least one finance process, not just executed the existing one

• Experience with Jedox or a similar planning tool (a plus, not a must)

• Advanced English, written and spoken

• Comfortable with large data sets, tight deadlines, and pushing back when the numbers don’t make sense
