Health and Safety Specialist

Adecco is looking for one of its clients, a leading digital platform for services and payments, a Health & Saftey Specialist , based in Bucharest.

» Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in health and safety roles, preferably within an office or corporate environment.

» Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

» Valid health and safety certification as per Romanian law (e.g., Inspectoratului Teritorial de Muncă certification, NEBOSH, or similar).

» Internship or practical experience in occupational health and safety is considered an advantage.

» Exposure to workplace inspections, risk assessments, or safety audits is a plus.

Knowledge and Skills

» Strong knowledge of Romanian health and safety regulations, best practices, and compliance requirements.

» Understanding of incident reporting and investigation processes.

» Awareness of emergency preparedness and response procedures.

» Basic understanding of ergonomics and workplace well-being principles.

» Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools.

» Good knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

» Fluent spoken and written English

We are looking for a skilled Health and Safety Expert to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations in Romania while taking on the additional responsibilities of an Office Manager. In this dual-role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety among employees. Additionally, you will manage office operations, coordinate administrative tasks, and facilitate a productive work environment.

Health and Safety Responsibilities

» Develop, implement, and maintain OSH policies compliant with Romanian legislation (Law 319/2006, GD 1425/2006).

» Identify workplace risks, including new risks arising from changes in processes, equipment, activities, or working conditions.

» Prepare professional risk identification sheets for medical check-ups upon employment.

» Inform management (orally and in writing) about identified risks and propose preventive measures; prepare expert reports for approval.

» Conduct regular workplace inspections, record findings, and ensure immediate implementation of preventive measures.

» Deliver OSH training for all staff categories according to the Training Program; ensure proper training of workplace managers.

» Test and verify employees' OSH knowledge and maintain accurate individual training records.

» Manage and sign OSH-related documentation, ensure proper archiving, registration, stamping, and filing.

» Install and maintain safety signage, monitor PPE use, and verify the functionality of collective protection systems.

» Advise management on actions required in case of accidents, equipment failures, or labor inspections (ITM).

» Guide management on ensuring sanitary materials and protective food/drinks.

» Collaborate effectively with direct managers, HR (new hires, exits, leaves), the medical service, and the Occupational Safety and Health Committee (acting as secretary).

» Prepare and present weekly activity reports; ensure proper management of OSHC activities.

» Maintain appropriate collaboration with senior management.
