IT Systems Engineer

Do you have operational IT support experience, along with hands-on experience with oil, gas, power, or industrial automation (PLCs, SCADA, etc)? We recently bought the Arad power station and are carrying out major upgrade works, including relocating the control room and building a new data centre room. Thanks to this, we are looking for an IT Systems Engineer to be based on-site and support a wide range of projects, systems and ongoing operations.

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Engineer to join our team, responsible for providing comprehensive technical support across all levels - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of IT infrastructure and systems. This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues, as well as escalating complex problems to higher-level support teams when necessary.

• Act as the initial point of contact for technical issues reported by users via phone, email, or in-person.
  Document all incidents and service requests, ensuring accurate and thorough records are maintained.
• Investigate and troubleshoot more complex technical issues escalated from 1st level support, utilizing diagnostic tools and resources.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to implement system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
• Serve as an expert resource for advanced technical support and problem resolution, including server administration, network troubleshooting, and security incidents.
• Participate in on-call rotation schedules to provide 24/7 support for critical IT systems and emergencies.
• Ensure optimal performance and availability of network switches, servers (physical & virtual), PCs, PLCs, SCADA systems, meters, and converters.
• Assist with data reporting, cybersecurity compliance, and future IT projects (network expansion, Grafana integration, VM migration, software upgrades).
• Manage and maintain hardware/software in administrative building, data center, pump station, and remote locations (110kV station, gas meters, Horia station).
• Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in CS/IT or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in IT support, preferably industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, and virtualization.
• Experience with server administration, data centers, automation scripting preferred.
• Industrial automation experience (PLC, SCADA) a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
