EAS Systems Requirements Engineer - Marquardt

Overview

As EAS Systems Requirements Engineer, you are responsible for the end-to-end management of system requirements for automotive Entry & Authorization Systems. You ensure requirements are clear, traceable, consistent, and testable, enabling robust system architecture, development, validation, and compliance with automotive standards.

You work closely with customers (OEMs), system engineers, project management, and development teams across the full product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Engineering

• Elicit, analyze, and structure system and customer requirements in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

• Consider legislation, standards, and norms in requirements definition

• Ensure requirements are unambiguous, feasible, complete, and testable

• Maintain bidirectional traceability across system, component, and test levels

Documentation & Change Management

• Create and maintain system requirement specifications and traceability matrices

• Manage requirement changes together with customers and project teams

• Ensure proper baselines, versioning, and status transparency

System & Architecture Interface

• Collaborate closely with system engineering and architecture to ensure consistency between requirements and solution

• Support decomposition into hardware and software requirements

Verification, Validation & Reviews

• Support definition and review of test cases and acceptance criteria

• Collaborate with test teams to ensure requirements are properly verified and validated

• Participate in reviews, FMEA, and change management processes

Communication & Coordination

• Act as an interface between technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Clearly communicate requirement intent and status

• Challenge unclear or incomplete requirements constructively

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, or similar

• Embedded background preferred

Professional Experience

• >=5 years experience in requirements engineering

• Experience in automotive development projects

• Experience with Entry & Authorization Systems (EAS):

  • LF / RF, UWB, BLE, NFC

Technical Knowledge

• System architecture, hardware and software development knowledge

• Automotive standards: ASPICE, ISO 26262, ISO 21434

• Automotive basics: CAN, LIN, FBL, BSW, Application layer

• Experience with V-Model, Agile, or hybrid development approaches

Tools & Methods

• Strong experience with IBM DOORS / DOORS NG

• Familiarity with modeling languages (UML, SysML) is an advantage
