With the inReach device, the central piece of our Outdoor department, which connects to the Iridium satellite network, our customers can stay connected regardless of being in the middle of the ocean or over 5.000 meters climbing the Himalayas. The  inReach SOS button saves 4 people each single day.

Garmin Outdoor also includes: wearables - Fenix series, wildlife monitoring devices, trapshooting devices (combining camera & radar), dog collars for dog training & monitoring.

Being part of our Outdoor team, you will:

• Design and enhance software solutions for Garmin's web applications, Outdoor and inReach related.
• Utilize a modern CI/CD system that provides one-click deployments to multiple locations including VM's as well as PaaS in Azure.
• Add value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions.
• Help evaluate new technologies, features and functions and offer suggestions.
• Help ensure resiliency of the applications owned by your team.
• Help set up monitoring for the new features being developed.
• Join a group of passionate and committed developers.
• Have the possibility to mentor less experienced engineers or get involved in our academy/internship programs.

Requirements

• Knowledge, education, experience and/or training in object oriented development and a familiarity with databases and source code control.
• Good knowledge of a wide range of technologies including but not limited to C#, ASP .NET MVC, .NET & .NET Core, Web API, Azure services, Micro-services/Distributed systems, MSSQL, Entity Framework/Core, Asynchronous programming, Design Patterns.
• Proficiency with Javascript ES6, HTML5, CSS3.
• A bachelor of science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a technical field relevant to the essential functions of this job description or minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• English proficiency.

Would be a great plus if you have:

• Expertise with Service Fabric, Docker, WebSocket and/or Blazor.
• Demonstrated skills in working with Javascript libraries or frameworks like React or Angular.
• Experience with working as part of an Agile (especially Scrum) or Kanban team.
• Knowledge and experience with IaC tools, like Terraform.
• Experience with configuration and maintenance of/for CI/CD pipelines.
