Product Test Engineering Infrastructure Manager

Role Purpose:

This role will work closely with the Network Automation team, which is part of the Design and Engineering function of Network Products and Services (NPS) within LSEG.

Network Automation team is tasked with the development of software solutions for the automatic instantiation of network connectivity and network services such as DNS, IPAM, load balancers, and firewalls.

The software produced by the team is used to translate user requirements for network services into actions which are taken on network infrastructure to fulfil the user request. This can take various forms, from the allocation of a new DNS record to a complex configuration for a network connectivity service applied to one or more network devices. Development is primarily in the form of software applications using the 'micro-service' architecture style, and various other software artefacts such as infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipeline code.

The primary software development activities supported by the Network Automation team are:

• The development of front-end business-facing applications providing a front-door in the form of APIs and Web UIs for our user community to request network services.
• Development of 'mid-tier' integration-layer applications which integrate north-bound with the business front-end app(s), and south-bound with the network service layer. The mid-tier automates all logic, workflow, and life-cycle maintenance of attributes required to manage a global network of devices and services
• Development of abstract models and code describing network connectivity services and their various components such as routing instances, interfaces, and vlans.

The Senior Network Product Test Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for network product testing effectiveness enablement. This role will define the test strategy, test standard, test tools and make sure network products go through sufficent and effective test before releasing to production. This role will also define and drive the strategy/plan to build and maintenance the need test environments (Dev, PPE, PPIE) in an effective way. The Senior Network Product Test Manager also play a governance and coaching role to make sure the best practice is shared across the team for test plan building, test execution.

This role demands speciality skills to establish and develop a robust quality function that supports the organization's longterm goals.

The successful candidate will collaborate with crossfunctional teams, ensuring that deliverables are reliable, scalable, and secure, while also driving the quality assurance processes that guarantee high standards in all network product testing and qualifiction activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the network implementation and development teams to ensure a coordinated approach to Infrastructure Provisioning Automation
• Supervise the design and deployment of network automation software for ensuring compliance requirements
• Communicate effectively with customers at all levels, providing updates on infrastructure initiatives, risks, and opportunities
• Promote the adoption of standard methodologies in test automation and network infrastructure automation testing process
• Collaborate with development teams to align testing strategies with the overall product roadmap and technical vision
• Identify and implement improvements in testing methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Document test strategies, processes, and outcomes in a clear and concise manner

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent Subject
• Having 10+ years experience being responsible for infrastructure test projects (network related preferred) involving on premise and cloud based infrastructure
• Has experience with microservices implementation and coordinating project teams of 4 or more in steam size
• Ability to work independently and multi-functionally
• Ability to communicate and build consensus at a senior management level.
• Ability to prioritize and handle work to critical project timelines in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to develop innovative ways to sophisticated problems related to infrastructure test (network related preferred) and Production Acceptance Process
• Must be organized, have an eye for detail
• Must be able to convert ideas into actions
• Successful track record of testing infrastructure products (network related preferred) and certifying for production deployment

Skills Needed

• Develop and maintain network product testing strategy, passionate about validating network product deliverables across multiple device platforms
• Design and implement automation frameworks for comprehensive network product testing
• Good experience in using varoius product testing tools
• Good Experience in setting up network product testing environments
• Good experience in SDLC using Agile/Kanban methodologies
• Good Experience in working with DevOps CI/CD environment
• Expertise in defining network product test environments for product test automation
• Good Experience with on premise, public and private cloud infrastructure
• Experience in developing comprehensive test cases to ensure detailed test coverage, addressing both functional and nonfunctional requirements
• Good understanding of networking technologies including LAN, WAN, data centre, client connectivity and cloud environments
• Good understanding of Hardware and Software Lifecycle Management
• Demonstrate good understanding of network build and provisioning automation tools like Ansible, terraform
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
