The Role

• As a Mechanical Engineer at DigitalGate, you will play a key role in the design and development of casings and mechanical structures for electronic devices. You'll collaborate with our electrical engineers and product teams to deliver enclosures that are functional, durable, manufacturable, and beautiful.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical enclosures, brackets, and structural components for electronic devices.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for manufacturing (e.g., injection molding, CNC, sheet metal).
• Work closely with the electronics and product teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical components.
• Rapidly prototype and iterate on designs using 3D printing and other methods.
• Perform thermal, structural, and tolerance analysis as needed.
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.

What Were Looking For

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably for electronics or consumer hardware.
• Strong proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Creo).
• Understanding of DFM/DFA principles, material selection, and common manufacturing processes.
• Experience working on cross-functional hardware teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• A strong eye for detail and product aesthetics is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience with IP-rated enclosures or ruggedized devices.
• Familiarity with thermal management in electronics.
• Hands-on prototyping and lab testing experience.
