Responsibilities

Oracle Database Administrator with minimum 4 years of experience with expertise as per responsibilities and requirements below:

• Manage Oracle 19c databases across the full product lifecycle, from development and testing to high ‑ availability, mission ‑ critical production environments
• Strong understanding of Oracle 19c database architecture (Single Instance, Grid Infrastructure/Oracle Restart, Data Guard) and their associated tools and utilities
• Defining database standards and procedures to cover the instance parameters, object sizing, storage. The procedures define the process for install/upgrade, corporate database requirements, security, backup/recovery and automate the same
• Knowledge of backup and recovery scenarios
• A good knowledge of physical database design and Partition Tables
• Ability to perform performance tuning and monitoring across Oracle databases as well as the underlying operating system. Use database tuning and diagnostic tools to generate traces and execution plans, identify issues such as deadlocks or contention, and implement effective resolutions. Configure and optimize storage, memory, logging, and transactional parameters to ensure consistently high database performance
• Solid knowledge and hands ‑ on experience with Oracle high ‑ availability solutions such as Data Guard
• Developing production database/storage (ASM) migration procedures
• Coordinating upgrades of system software products to resolve any Oracle/operating system issues/conflicts
• A good understanding of the underlying operating system (RedHat 9, Oracle Linux 8 and 9) and knowledge of network (concepts like VIPs, ports, load balancing) and storage
• A good knowledge and hands on experience of Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c
• A DBA should have sound communication skills with management, development teams and systems administrators
• Provide off-hours support and maintenance as required, part of the 24x7 operations support on-call rotations

Required

• Database management, including backups, recovery and maintenance
• Database management for export, import and mass data loads
• Analyzes and generation of all tables and index statistics
• Monitoring and resolving data lock issues
• Check all statistics related to memory, locks, I/O, database response time, wait events, top sessions and background processes
• On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) to capture, validate and store large amounts of transactions
• Create indexes to achieve critical dataset response time for time sensitive reports

Preferred

• Certifications like OCA, OCP, Oracle Database Cloud Administrator 2021 etc
• Knowledge of Unix operating system
• Python, Ansible, Shell scripting Knowledge for Automation
