Front End Engineer, Amazon Compliance

Unified Content Processing Platform (part of Compliance Shared Services) is looking for a Front End Engineer to build interfaces for software systems that provide a safe shopping experience for Amazon customers, validate regulatory compliance across our supply chain, and make achieving compliance simpler for selling partners.

We research, innovate, advance the state-of-the-art, and build ML systems to proactively identify safety and compliance risks in Amazon's retail business. We leverage computer vision and NLP to enable the analysis, validation and data extraction from aggregated volumes of tens of millions of documents and images (such as safety datasheets, declarations of conformity, product labels) in Amazon catalog across all marketplaces. We envision and build best in class media processing platform and tools that enable us to meet our objectives and scale cost effectively, as we continue to expand into newer and complex businesses and grow our selection.

The ideal candidate will be eager to work in a team of innovators and contribute as a technical leader to a suite of tools that power automating and scalable content processing with the end goal of providing Amazon shoppers and sellers a frictionless and trustworthy shopping and selling experience. You will be working in an Agile mode, collaborating with product management and UX design to iterate at a fast pace and delight our end users.

Key job responsibilities
(1) designing, developing and maintaining micro-front-ends hosted in AWS using Javascript, Typescript, Angular and React;
(2) designing and delivering re-usable front-end libraries;
(3) improving performance and user interaction design;
(4) researching solutions for technically ambiguous problems.

Basic qualifications

- Experience (non-internship) in professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- Experience in computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis)
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react

Preferred qualifications

- Experience in agile software development methodology
- Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
