Transportation Planner-12 months contract

Planning is you superpower — and you use it to keep snacks moving. This  Transportation Planner role sits at the heart of daily execution, turning demand into smart, workable transport plans that land on time, in full, and at the best possible cost. 

Based in  Bucharest, Romania on a  hybrid setup, you’ll join a close-knit team of six reporting to the Transport Leader , partnering across distribution, export, customer service, supply planning, and finance to keep freight flowing smoothly — even when the day throws curveballs. You’ll be empowered to challenge the status quo, stay calm under pressure, and make practical improvements that lift both service and profit. This is a 12 months fixed term contract .

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

• Own the daily transport plan : You’ll build and execute end-to-end transportation plans each day — consolidating loading plans, balancing shifts, and optimising routes and mode choices to deliver the right service at the right cost. You’ll move fast, think ahead, and keep the plan realistic for warehouses, carriers, and customers. 

• Be the go-to partner for carriers and stakeholders : You’ll communicate decisively with hauliers/carriers as the primary day-to-day contact, while also aligning with internal teams across export, distribution, customer service, supply planning, production planning, and finance. You’ll blend bold decision-making with a collaborative style that keeps everyone informed and moving in the same direction.

• Manage dock slots, bookings, and flawless execution : You’ll manage booking at loading gates (slots), secure capacity, and ensure shipments are released and executed to plan using a Transport Management System (TMS). When priorities change, you’ll re-plan quickly, protect service, and keep costs under control. 

• Track shipments and solve exceptions like a pro : You’ll monitor shipment status (accepted, in transit, delivered, appointments, POD timing) and proactively communicate and resolve exceptions — from delays and short-notice changes to crisis situations. You’ll stay composed, use data, and act with empathy for customer needs while holding firm on smart operational choices. 

We’re Looking for Someone With

• English language skills (comfortable working daily with carriers and cross-functional teams) 

• Expertise in Transportation

• Working knowledge of a Transport Management System (TMS) (experience with tools such as Transporeon is a strong advantage) 

• Strong systems + commercial mindset: proficient with ERP ( SAP) and Microsoft Office; understands transport regulations/policies; builds client & carrier relationships; analytical and solutions-oriented
