LSEG is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Lead Software & Platform Engineer to be part of a high-performing engineering team in delivering strategic services for our flagship LSEG Workspace platform. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of our technology ecosystem while encouraging a culture of excellence and innovation within your team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Lead Software & Platform Engineer, you will be a member of the Application Infrastructure team, responsible for building, improving and maintaining the delivery of cloud-native products, applying your expertise in technologies to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions. You will play a key role in designing and developing backend systems that power our flagship product, LSEG Workspace. You’ll work in a distributed team environment and collaborate with hardworking Product Managers, Architects, Software Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers across the globe.

• Architect and implement backend services using NodeJS, C# and both Azure and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to deliver new features and improvements.
• Ensure code quality, security, and performance across the application's framework.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and agile ceremonies.
• Applying a wide range of policies or standards.
• Identifying and resolving technical and operational problems.
• Taking decisions involving interpretation of data, planning your own work, and refining the methods and techniques to be used.

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including back-end development and infrastructure support.
• Hands-on experience in DevOps, system administration, and automating software delivery processes, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code. Terraform experience would be advantageous.
• Strong experience in Cloud Computing Architecture, Serverless Computing, and Container Services (ideally with both Azure and AWS).
• Demonstrated knowledge of the design and operation of critical, high-volume distributed systems, including synchronous/asynchronous service patterns, long-running processes, concurrency, and multithreading.
• Demonstrated experience in complex system design, development, and collaboration in an agile environment.
• Proficient in one or more programming languages, including .NET (C#), Java, NodeJS/TypeScript, Python, and shell scripts.
• Experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
• Communication of changes, blockers, and progress clearly to stakeholders, with work aligned to priorities and manage dependencies effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly and influence senior leaders, business stakeholders and partners.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the emotional intelligence to build trust, develop people, and lead effectively through change.
• Sets priorities to meet timelines; develops plans to meet short-term objectives. Responsible for managing own time and responsibilities.
• Self-motivated in learning; drives work through to completion and empowers others.
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with remote team members and across development teams. Strong communication skills.
• Able to collaborate across geographical boundaries, time zones, and cultural differences.
• Demonstrates multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience of FinOPS and Observability tooling.
