GL Senior Manager

About the job and responsibilities

Our company is looking for a dedicated and experienced GL Senior Manager to join our Finance Department. Szallas Group, a travel platform operator in the CEE region, is currently expanding and growing its presence in the domestic tourism market in Romania. To support this expansion and ensure continuous, accurate, and timely reporting, we are seeking a GL Senior Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Taxation & Reporting 

• Preparing and submitting all recurring tax returns

• Reviewing tax registers and SAF-T files, ensuring compliance with Romanian tax legislation

• Preparing corporate income tax calculations and supporting documentation

• Drafting responses to ANAF inquiries and managing communication with tax authorities

• Managing taxes related to prize income and local tax declarations

• Reviewing sales and purchase journals and reconciling VAT

Statutory and Regulatory Reporting

• Preparing quarterly reports for the National Bank of Romania (international trade in services, capital transfers, intra-group transactions)

• Preparing annual reports for the National Institute of Statistics (labor cost, travel agency activity)

• Managing submissions on the SICAP platform for public sector clients, when needed

• Obtaining official documents from the Trade Registry (RECOM), when needed

• Monitoring and renewing operating licenses and insurance policies (travel agencies and vehicles)

Organizational and Administrative Coordination 

• Overseeing proper archiving of accounting documents and maintaining accounting files

• Coordinating and reviewing monthly accounting operations and resolving accounting discrepancies and operational issues with banks or suppliers

• Developing and measuring team performance indicators and promoting process improvements

• Collaborating with external auditors and financial service providers

Your profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics; ongoing ACCA or CPA studies are an advantage

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the field or a related area

• Relevant experience and knowledge of RAS

• Strong knowledge of Romanian tax and accounting legislation

• Advanced reporting and analytical skills

• Advanced Excel skills• English – written and spoken

• Proactive and results-oriented

• Team management skills

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities

• Good communication skills
