Internship C# Developer

Responsibilities

Societe Generale Global Solution Centre (SG GSC) acts as a business solution center for Societe Generale, one of the largest European financial groups. We provide high-quality professional services for more than 35 countries in various fields of activity - Finance & Accounting, HR, IT and Corporate Operations. IT Filiere is part of the Centre and comprises four Perimeters: Retail Banking, Security and Infrastructure, Internal Support Applications and Investment Banking, with a total of more than 800 IT professionals.

Our application is used for the management of collateral. It's used by front office and middle office and provides different services: collateral exposure computation, security eligibility service to collateralization, optimization of movement on collateral proposal, middle office workflow to manage collateral with counterparts. In the same time, the application is key for MARK financing pre-trade and collateral workflow.

Specifically, you will be required to: 

• Contribute to the design, development and testing of new features under the guidance of senior engineers as part of an Agile/Scrum team;

• Participate in the implementation and maintenance of backend services and user-facing applications using C# and .NET technologies;

• Learn and apply software engineering best practices, including clean code, code reviews, automated testing and secure development principles;

• Assist in troubleshooting, debugging and resolving application issues across development, testing and production environments;

• Collaborate with business analysts, developers and support teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions;

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tooling and CI/CD pipelines;

• Create and maintain technical documentation related to implemented features and development activities;

• Take ownership of assigned tasks while actively learning from experienced team members and expanding technical knowledge.

Profile required

• Final-year Bachelor's or Master's student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics or a related field. 

• Good understanding of programming fundamentals, algorithms, data structures and object-oriented design principles. 

• Basic knowledge of C#, .NET, Angular/AngularJS and relational databases (SQL Server knowledge is a plus). 

• Familiarity with web technologies, REST APIs and JSON. 

• Eagerness to learn modern software development practices, including microservices, automated testing, CI/CD and cloud-native architectures. 

• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git. 

• Interest in software quality practices and development tools such as NUnit, SonarQube and Jenkins (or similar CI/CD platforms). 

• Previous academic, personal or internship projects involving software development are considered a plus. 

• Good command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to collaborate effectively in an international environment. French is a plus. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. 

• Curious, proactive and motivated to continuously learn and develop technical skills. 

• Team player with good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within Agile/Scrum teams.

• Interest in AI-assisted software development tools and modern engineering practices. 

• Ability to critically review, understand, test and improve code generated by AI coding assistants. 

• Strong focus on software engineering fundamentals, including code quality, maintainability, debugging and problem-solving. 

• Ability to validate solutions through analysis, testing and reasoning rather than relying solely on generated code.
