Remote Freight Coordinator

About the role

Expert Advantage Group is recruiting, on behalf of our client, a

US-based freight forwarding company, a Freight Coordinator to support its European groupage operations. This is a fully remote position. You will coordinate internationalshipments from order to delivery, working closely with customers, carriers and the clients internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and optimize international ransport operations.
• Manage transport documentation and issue invoices to customers for the services provided.
• Monitor shipments in progress and make sure every order is carried out according to the customers requirements and instructions.
• Manage transport orders and keep them up to date in the companys internal systems.
• Post and manage transport offers on freight exchange platforms.
• Keep clear, effective communication with customers, carriers, partners and internal departments so operations run smoothly.
• Handle complaints and find quick solutions, keeping customer satisfaction high.
• Prepare and verify the documents required for customs formalities and international transport.
• Work in the companys internal IT systems and follow its operational procedures.

Key facts about the role

• Systems: you will work in the clients own proprietary, customized platform (not SAP). Full training is provided.
• Teams you will work with: mainly the US Operations team and the Accounting department.
• Volume: depends on business volume. There is no fixed minimum or maximum number of orders per day. You handle each order end-to-end, from order entry through follow-up to final delivery.
• Carriers: you will work directly with the carriers.
• Documentation: you will handle the full range of documents: logistics, customs, import/export documentation and invoices.

A typical working day

• Review new transport requests and enter or update orders in the companys platform.
• Plan groupage loads, post offers on freight exchanges and confirm carriers.
• Track shipments on the road and keep customers informed of progress.
• Prepare and check transport and customs documents for upcoming shipments.
• Coordinate with US Operations and Accounting on orders, invoicing and any open issues.
• Solve day-to-day problems such as delays, changes or complaints with customers and carriers.
• Close completed shipments and issue the corresponding invoices.

What we are looking for

• Experience in international road freight forwarding or transport coordination
• Good knowledge of international transport documents (CMR, invoices, customs documentation).
• Experience with freight exchange platforms (e.g. Timocom, Trans.eu or similar).
• Very good English, written and spoken. Other European languages are an advantage.
• Organized, proactive and able to handle several shipments at the same time.
• Good communication and negotiation skills with customers and carriers.
• Comfortable working with TMS/ERP systems and MS Office.
• Able to work independently in a remote environment.
