Education

• University degree, preferably in Engineering, Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role, such as Material Planner, Supply Planner, Procurement Specialist, Logistics Specialist, or Inventory Controller.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Good knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and material planning processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, formulas, and data analysis.
• Ability to read, understand, and work with Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Just-in-Time (JIT) principles is an advantage.
• Good understanding of inventory management principles and supply planning processes.

• Good communication and negotiation skills, particularly when dealing with suppliers.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across Production, Procurement, Quality, and Warehouse functions.

Additional Requirements

• English language skills – intermediate to upper-intermediate level, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Category B driving licence is an advantage.

1. Material Planning & Supply

• Review the production plan and compare production requirements against the relevant Bill of Materials (BOMs) to determine actual material needs.
• Calculate material requirements (MRP) based on production plans, existing inventory, and upcoming demand.
• Prepare, maintain, and regularly update material ordering and delivery schedules in line with production requirements and deadlines.
• Ensure materials are planned and available according to production priorities.

2. Supplier & Delivery Management

• Place and monitor purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring agreed delivery dates are met.
• Proactively communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, track deliveries, and expedite critical or delayed materials when required.
• Identify potential supply or delivery risks at an early stage and escalate them accordingly.
• Propose and coordinate alternative solutions in case of supply disruptions, such as alternative suppliers, alternative materials/resources, or production rescheduling.

3. Inventory Management

• Monitor inventory levels for raw materials, semi-finished materials, and production consumables.
• Establish and maintain optimal inventory levels, including minimum, safety stock, and reorder point parameters.
• Monitor stock availability against production requirements and proactively identify potential shortages or excess inventory.
• Coordinate regular stock counts and inventory reconciliations together with the Warehouse Operator.
• Investigate and support the resolution of inventory discrepancies.

4. Warehouse Coordination

• Coordinate the Warehouse Operator's activities related to the receipt, storage, and issue of materials to Production.
• Ensure all inventory movements are accurately and timely recorded in the ERP/system.
• Ensure compliance with warehouse procedures and material handling requirements, including FIFO/FEFO principles where applicable.
• Ensure appropriate storage conditions are maintained, particularly for materials requiring specific storage or handling conditions, such as composite materials.

5. Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Provide regular reports to management on purchase order status, material availability, inventory levels, delivery risks, and potential production constraints.
• Identify opportunities to improve material planning, inventory management, and supply processes.
• Collaborate closely with Procurement, Production, Quality, and Warehouse teams to resolve material-related issues and non-conformities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing material shortages, excess stock, lead times, and operational inefficiencies.
