To support its continued focus on workplace safety and operational excellence, Adecco is looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager for our client, a leading international company from FMCG industry.

This role will lead the site's Health & Safety agenda, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, driving risk reduction initiatives, and fostering a proactive safety culture across production, warehouse, logistics, and office operations.

• At least 5 years' experience in Health & Safety within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• At least 3 years' experience in a leadership or management role.
• Experience in:
  • FMCG manufacturing
  • Continuous production environments
  • Contractor management
  • Accident and incident investigations
  • Internal and external audits
  • Emergency preparedness and Fire Safety (PSI)
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
• Experience implementing and maintaining Health & Safety management systems (e.g., ISO 45001).
• Strong risk assessment and incident investigation skills.
• Ability to influence managers and engage employees at all levels.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Results-oriented, with a focus on practical implementation and continuous improvement.

Reports to: Plant Director

Location: On-site – Ilfov

Team: Individual contributor (no direct reports); manages external Health & Safety service providers.

Purpose of the Role

The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant workplace across the factory, warehouse, logistics, and office areas. The role leads the company's Health & Safety program, ensures compliance with legal requirements, reduces workplace risks, and promotes a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety Management

• Develop, implement, and maintain Health & Safety policies, procedures, and standards.
• Ensure Health & Safety requirements are applied consistently across all departments.
• Monitor H&S performance and provide regular reports to management.

Legal Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and company standards.
• Monitor legal changes and implement required actions.
• Coordinate inspections, audits, and communication with regulatory authorities.

Risk Management

• Lead workplace risk assessments and ensure effective control measures are in place.
• Support safe operations in production, warehouse, logistics, and office areas.
• Ensure Health & Safety requirements are included in new projects, equipment, and process changes.

Audits & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain the Occupational Health & Safety Management System (ISO 45001 or equivalent).
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Identify improvement opportunities and drive initiatives to strengthen H&S performance.

Incident Prevention & Safety Culture

• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and preventive actions.
• Organize Health & Safety training and awareness programs.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and encourage managers to take ownership of Health & Safety.

Contractor & Emergency Management

• Ensure contractors comply with company Health & Safety requirements.
• Monitor contractor performance and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Develop, maintain, and test emergency response and fire safety plans.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities across the site.
