Ruby Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Write production-grade Ruby code for core services and applications.
• Develop integrations with internal, external, and third-party systems.
• Create API documentation and development standards.
• Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and API security practices.
• Monitor and optimize API performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Support API versioning and backward compatibility.
• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in Tier 1 and Tier 2 on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with technical leadership on code quality, security, and maintainability.
• Promote AI-enabled development tools to improve productivity and code quality.

Requirements

• At least six years of Ruby on Rails development experience.
• Strong experience designing, building, and supporting APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases.
• Experience with the RSpec testing framework.
• Preferred experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, OAuth, Git, Sidekiq, Java, and Spring Boot.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Must have lived continuously in the United States for the previous three consecutive years.
• Must successfully pass a government suitability review and background investigation.
