Then come and join our global team as a  Start-up Engineer for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Systems

Our Role:

This position is based in Romania and is part of the MRI Factory Installation Team in Erlangen, Germany, the global organization responsible for the installation and start-up of Siemens Healthineers MRI systems in Europe.

As a member of this international team, you will report directly to the MRI Factory Installation Team and work closely with factory experts, project managers, service organizations, and customers across the region.

This is a highly mobile field-based role requiring extensive travel throughout Romania and occasional travel across Europe, depending on project needs and commissioning schedules.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• Perform start-up activities for MRI systems at customer sites throughout Romania and occasionally the European region.
• Conduct hardware inspections and functional checks of MRI components, including magnets, gradient systems, RF coils, cooling systems, and safety devices.
• Test control and imaging software, including integration and interface testing with customer IT systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
• Carry out safety inspections in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and legal requirements.
• Perform quality assurance testing to verify system performance and image quality.
• Create and maintain detailed test, validation, and commissioning documentation.
• Perform technical clarification, fault analysis, troubleshooting, and coordination of spare parts required during commissioning.
• Collaborate closely with customers, local project managers, external partners, service organizations, and factory-based engineering teams.
• Prepare acceptance documentation and coordinate the successful handover of the system to the responsible service organization.
• Support continuous improvement activities by sharing field experience and technical feedback with factory teams.

Your qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Alternatively, completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician, Mechatronics Technician or equivalent technical qualification, combined with relevant professional experience.
• (Candidates with further qualifications as a state-certified technician or master craftsman and relevant professional experience are also welcome to apply)
• Experience in commissioning, maintenance, installation, or service of complex technical systems, ideally within medical technology or diagnostic imaging.
• Knowledge of MRI system hardware and software, including interfaces to healthcare IT systems is an advantage
• Familiarity with applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements is considered a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving capabilities.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Romania and occasionally  across Europe as required by project schedules.

• Flexibility and adaptability to changing project requirements and work locations.
• High level of resilience, commitment, and time flexibility to support frequent travel and field assignments.
• Depending on the project, it may be necessary to remain at the work site over the weekend about once or twice a month to ensure efficient project execution
• Good understanding of system integration, interfaces, upgrades, and technical workflows in MRI environments.
• Business-fluent Romanian and English language skills, any other European language would be a plus
• Valid Class B driving license.
